A summer update: When the weddings dry up and the sun still shines. . where are lovers getting married these days?

Hope everyone has been well..

I received an interesting message from a former co-worker at the part time catering job.. Apparently, the world of weddings have been crashing--economic factors, perhaps?

Get this.. according to this unnamed person about this unnamed location, there are only two (2!) weddings set for this summer. Keep in mind, only four and five years ago, this location was hosting one, sometimes two weddings, each week. As a matter of fact, the summers of 2008 and 2009 were pretty profitable... eight to twelve weddings from June through October is a great record..

But this year, two? 

And the food is fine.. the atmosphere is fine.. Something is amiss here.

Just wondering to all who pass by this page, lend a comment if you  have seen the same type of situation occurring in your part of the kitchen. Is this a glitch, area dependent? Or are people taking the cheap route and going to the firehouse wedding scene?
